Multiwavelength Emission from Magnetically Arrested Disks around Isolated Black Holes

چکیده

Abstract We discuss the prospects for identifying nearest isolated black holes (IBHs) in our Galaxy. IBHs accreting gas from interstellar medium likely form magnetically arrested disks (MADs). show that thermal electrons MADs emit optical signals through synchrotron process while nonthermal accelerated via magnetic reconnections a flat-spectrum radiation X-ray to MeV gamma-ray ranges. The Gaia catalog will include at most thousand within ≲1 kpc are distributed on and around cooling sequence of white dwarfs (WDs) Hertzsprung–Russell diagram. These IBH candidates should also be detected by eROSITA, with which they can distinguished WDs neutron stars. Follow-up observations hard satellites useful unambiguously identify IBHs.

Neutron Disks Around Black Holes

We study nucleosynthesis in low accretion rate hot advective flows around black holes. We find that matter is generally photo-dissociated into protons and neutrons inside the disk. These neutrons stay around black holes for longer time because they are not coupled to magnetic fields while the protons accrete into the hole. We find the nature of the resulting neutron disks and estimate the rate ...

Sporadically Torqued Accretion Disks Around Black Holes

The assumption that black hole accretion disks possess an untorqued inner boundary, the so-called zero torque boundary condition, has been employed by models of black hole disks for many years. However, recent theoretical and observational work suggests that magnetic forces may appreciably torque the inner disk. This raises the question of the effect that a time-changing magnetic torque may hav...

Computation of outflow rates from accretion disks around black holes

We self-consistently estimate the outflow rate from the accretion rates of an accretion disk around a black hole in which both the Keplerian and the sub-Keplerian matter flows simultaneously. While Keplerian matter supplies soft-photons, hot sub-Keplerian matter supplies thermal electrons. The temperature of the hot electrons is decided by the degree of inverse Comptonization of the soft photon...

Spectral Signatures of Winds from Accretion Disks around Black Holes

Accretion and outflows are common in systems which include compact objects such as black holes and neutron stars. In the last three decades, numerous models have been built to produce jets and outflows. In the case of black holes, since no matter can escape out of the horizon, some suggested that the jets are formed in the strong field region around black holes in the form of pair plasma (Type ...

Relativistic Outflows from Advection-dominated Accretion Disks around Black Holes

Advection-dominated accretion flows (ADAFs) have a positive Bernoulli parameter, and are therefore gravitationally unbound. The Newtonian ADAF model has been generalized recently to obtain the ADIOS model that includes outflows of energy and angular momentum, thereby allowing accretion to proceed self-consistently. However, the utilization of a Newtonian gravitational potential limits the abili...
